LOCAL COMMUNITY OUTREACH
The people of Ruhl's Church volunteer with a variety of ministries in the local Manheim area. We hold Community Outreach events at the church building such as an Indoor Yard Sale, Annual God's Clothing Closet (providing free clothing to those in need), and Vacation Bible School. We also hold an Annual Community Picnic (featuring delicious homemade chicken corn soup) in our Picnic Grove on Newport Road in Manheim. The church, as an organization, also provides support to a number of local ministries as we work together to make Manheim and Lancaster County a better place for its residents.
Annual God's Clothing Closet
God's Clothing Closet - Free Give-away. GCC opens before the start of each school year. All donated clothing items for men, women and children are provided to shoppers free of charge. This has become one of our most popular and impactful events, with thousands of pieces of clothing being distributed on an annual basis. In 2019, we served a record of 660 people. Have clothes to donate? We accept gently used clothing all year long. Please call the church office at 717-665-3400 to make arrangements to drop off.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer, the fellowship hall transforms from a gym to an environment of adventure for children ages 3 through 6th grade. Through a different theme each year, they learn about God and His creation through Bible stories and live drama, while enjoying games, a snack and craft time.
Annual Community Picnic
We hold an annual "mission fundraiser" picnic for the community at our Picnic Grove on Newport Road in Manheim, PA. We serve chicken corn soup, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, hot dogs, hot sausage sandwiches, drinks and homemade pies, cakes and other deserts. Take-out soup is also sold by the quart. It's a fun time for all!
LANCASTER COUNTY MINISTRIES WE SUPPORT
We support ministries right here in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania with a heavy emphasis on caring for homeless women and children. These ministries give hope and help to people who are experiencing an unintended pregnancy, homeless as a result of abusive relationships, addiction, loss of employment or simply slipping through "the system", and provide education, housing and support services for women and children who would otherwise be experiencing homelessness. We also support a ministry that provides food for those in our local community who are in need.
"For there will never cease to be the poor (needy) in the land.
Therefore I command you, 'You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy in your land. Deuteronomy 15:11
"If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them,
how can the love of God be in that person?" John 3:17
Align Pregnancy Ministries
Align Life Ministries offers hope and help to people who are experiencing an unintended pregnancy. We have an ongoing collection for Align. Look for the manger in our lobby where you can place your donations of baby items, including clothing, diapers, lotions, bottles and much more to help mothers all around our area.
Anchor Lancaster
Anchor Lancaster's mission is to be a good neighbor by providing a hot breakfast and warm showers every weekday while aiding in other practical, concrete ways, in a welcoming, safe environment, receiving guests with dignity, respect and compassion. We regard our guests as persons of sacred worth, reflecting the image of God. Remembering the words of Jesus, “I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me” - Matthew 25:35

There are invisible people living here in Manheim. They are the homeless and the very poor – many of them students in our schools. Milagro House
Milagro (Miracle) House has been providing education, housing and support to women and their children who would otherwise be experiencing homelessness since 1998. Education is the foundation of everything that is done at Milagro House. Women in their program have access to opportunities to finish their high school education through an in-house high school equivalency program and/or complete a post-secondary diploma or certification through partnerships with local educational institutions. By providing housing (at no cost), life-skills programming and focused, individualized case support, Milagro House provides the needed space, opportunities, and resources for women to pursue the future they envision for themselves and their children. For many families, it is the first time in a long time they have had a safe and consistent place to live, a place to grow and make memories.
