Ruhl’s UMC plans Holy Week events:
That evening there will be an Easter Egg Hunt and party for kids and families beginning at 6:30pm. The egg hunt, open to all children aged 12 and under, will be held rain or shine, and will be followed by games and light refreshments for the whole family!
On Maundy Thursday (4/21) Ruhl’s Church will host a Tenebrae service, which is a holy communion service that reminds us of Jesus’ disciples falling away as the sanctuary gets increasingly darker and attendees leave in silence. The service begins at 7pm.
Good Friday (4/22) is observed with a program, entitled “Justice,” which also begins at 7pm. Freznel Lenz, a local band comprised of members of The Ruhl’s Church Praise Band will present original drama and music that will will aim to answer the question “Just what’s so GOOD about this Friday anyhow?” The evening will conclude with light refreshments in the Fellowship Hall.
Easter Sunday morning (4/24) begins bright and early at 6:30am with Ruhl’s YOUTH presenting a sunrise service to be held outside, near the prayer garden and gazebo. Attendees will worship with live music provided by Ruhl’s Brass and Ruhl’s Youth Praise Band, and will also be treated to an original drama written by some of the youth. Immediately following the sunrise service, there will be a breakfast of egg caseroles and baked items to be held in the Fellowship Hall. The 8am and 10:30am worship serivces that morning will feature a celebration of the risen Christ with music by Ruhl’s Sanctuary Choir and Praise band respectively, along with message by Pastor Rob Timlin.
Please join us on the hill for any or all of these events! Further details can be obtained by calling the church office at 717-665-3400, e-mailing office@ruhlschurch.org , or by refering to the website at www.ruhlschurch.org
